Women's History Month Luncheon March 24

Women's Day Luncheon 2018 promo


Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre will present the annual Women's History Month Luncheon this Sat., March 24, from noon until 2 p.m., at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. This year's theme is "The Power of a Woman's Story." The free event will feature a complimentary buffet. Supervision will be provided for children age 4 and up. Space is limited; reservations are required.

Free Family Fun: Marshmallow Drop March 30

Marshmallow Drop


On Fri., March 30, from 11 a.m. to noon, join the City's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department for the Inaugural Marshmallow Drop. A blizzard of thousands of marshmallows will be dropped from a helicopter over James Park, with three separate drops for different age groups. Children are encouraged to bring their own baskets to collect marshmallows, and prizes will be given for marshmallows collected. The event is free and open to the public. Any leftover marshmallows will be cleaned up following the event.

Food and Yard Waste Collection Begins April 2

Yard waste


Weekly yard waste collections for the 2018 season will begin on Mon., April 2 with an expanded composting program. Food waste can now "ride along" with grass clippings and leaves in plastic yard waste carts.
