Temporary Placement of Beach Tent
Sea Island Beach Club, Sea Island, Glynn County, Georgia

This serves as a notification from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources of the issuance of a Letter of Permission (LOP) to Sea Island Acquisitions, LLC for temporary activities associated with the placement of a temporary tent and associated equipment at the Sea Island Beach Club, Sea Island, Glynn County, Georgia during the period from May 27, 2013 through June 4, 2013.

The request is being amended to account for the decrease in work scope and size of the proposed beach tent which was authorized October 12, 2012. This is a one day event, scheduled to take place June 1, 2013 and will occur during daylight hours only.  Set-up will begin on May 27, 2013, and will involve the use of a pick-up truck and a 24’ box truck and a small mobile crane to erect the tent for the reception.  The tent will measure 49’ x 148’ and will include five, 40-ton portable HVAC units. The vehicles will access the beach on the authorized access point at the north end of the beach club and will stay on the unvegetated flat sand areas.  Temporary boardwalks will be composed of carpeted plywood and will be at grade.  Temporary power lines will be lightly covered by sand. All flooring, tents, and accessory materials will be staged on the bare sand areas as previously designated by staff.  No materials will be located in the dunes and/or over any dune vegetation. Break down will begin on June 2, 2013 and be completed on June 4, 2013.
