Coastal and Sportsmen's Day at the Capitol

The Department of Natural Resources visited with Legislators at the Capitol to advocate for protection and promotion for our natural resources during this legislative session.  This annual event was held January 14th and was a great chance for DNR to promote the bill that will be coming out regarding the simplification of purchase decisions and increase in fees for hunters and anglers for the first time in 24 years.

2016 Fishing Regs

2016 Georgia Fishing Regulations Now Available

Anglers can find the new 2016 Georgia Sport Fishing Regulations Guide online and in print. This guide provides helpful information, including color fish identification charts for both freshwater and saltwater fish, license purchasing information, contact information, trout stream listings, public fishing area information, state record fish listings and complete fishing regulations for Georgia.

Georgia Ranked #4 in the Nation for Archery in the Schools! 

The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) recently released their annual report.  Out of 47 states participating, Georgia was ranked 4th for this program's efforts.

American Fisheries Society Meeting

February 9-11 at the Convention and Trade Center in the Columbus, Georgia. The meeting will follow a 3-day format with a special session on Chattahoochee dam removals and student session organized by the University of Georgia and Auburn University student sub-units.
