Babcock/Webb 100-yard rifle-shooting range to close for repairs

The 100-hundred yard rifle range at Babcock-Webb Public Shooting Range in Punta Gorda will be closed for repairs starting Nov. 8 and remain closed until at least Dec. 9.

The 200-yard rifle range, the 50-yard handgun range and the shotgun pads will remain open to the public during normal operating hours, with virtually no interruptions.

Repairs to the 100-yard range are expected to take about a month and include replacement of the steel brow and refurbishment of the earthen impact berm.

Webb Public Shooting Range on the Babcock/Webb Wildlife Management Area and other shooting facilities, visit MyFWC.com/Hunting and select “Safety & Education” then “Shooting Ranges” or call your nearest FWC regional office.
