UPCOMING EVENTS AT GTM RESEARCH RESERVE
~The public is invited to participate in the following events~
April 3: 9-10:30 a.m. Marineland Beach Walk features an interpretive guide who will
teach about everything from sand dunes to sharks’ teeth to shore birds. Click here to register online and to get

April 4:
8:30-10:30 a.m. Guided Cultural Hike takes visitors on an adventure exploring the
cultural history of the Guana Peninsula. Click here to register online and to get directions. The event is free.
April 11:
8:30-10:30 a.m. Second Saturday Trail Hike features an interpretive guide leading participants on a 1.5 mile walk that the entire family will enjoy. Click here to register online and to get

April 11: 9-10:30 a.m. Matanzas Inlet Guided Walk takes participants around the Matanzas
Inlet with an interpretive guide who will teach about seashells, dune
vegetation, mollusks and more. Click here to register online and to get

April 15: 9-10:30
a.m. Guided Trail Walk at Marineland River-to-Sea Preserve features an
interpretive guide taking participants through a wooded
path to the Matanzas River. Click

April 15: 3-4 p.m. “More than You Ever Wanted to Know About... Birds” is a special presentation on birds of
Northeast Florida by guest speaker Carole Adams from the Duval Audubon Society.
The event will be hosted at the Environmental Education Center located at 505
Guana River Rd., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Click here to register online. The event is

April 18: 8:30-10 a.m. Guided
Beach Exploration features an interpretive guide leading participants on a
beach exploration at the Guana south beach location. Click here to register online and to get

April 21: 10-11 a.m. “Snakes! How to Shed Your Fears” is a special presentation about snakes
by guest speaker Joe Burgess, herpetologist and resource management coordinator
at the GTM Research Reserve. Click here to register online and to get directions. NEW
LOCATION: Marineland Dolphin Adventure, 9600 Ocean Shore Blvd., St Augustine, FL 32080.
Please arrive at the gift shop by 9:45 a.m. Guests will receive a special
wristband for free admission to the Marineland Dolphin Adventure park after the
lecture. The event is free.
April 22-26: Florida’s Birding & Photo Fest features
world-renowned photographers, rare birding opportunities, new in-field
programs and technical training opportunities. The event is produced by the St.
Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches Visitors & Convention Bureau and will
be held at the GTM Research Reserve. Click here to register online.
April 25: 8:30-10:30 a.m. Family Seining provides participants the opportunity to join GTM Research Reserve
guides at Guana Lake to collect species of fish, crabs and more, and learn
about the animals and their roles in the habitat. Click here to register online and to get
