APALACHICOLA RESEARCH RESERVE OFFERS 'RESERVE WEDNESDAY' LECTURE SERIES
~Learn about the unique natural history of the Florida Panhandle at this new
lecture series~
APALACHICOLA – Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve
announces a new monthly natural history lecture series, “Reserve Wednesdays,” that
explores the ecology, geology and natural history of the Florida Panhandle.
Free lectures will be held the third Wednesday of
each month from 2-3 p.m. at the Apalachicola Research Reserve Nature Center in
Eastpoint.
Sara Merritt, environmental specialist with the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will kick off the series on
Jan. 21 with a lecture about deadhead logging in the Apalachicola Bay area. Participants
will learn about this unique method of logging from a historical and ecological
perspective.
