RENOWNED ARTIST PROVIDES INSTRUCTION AT ROOKERY BAY RESERVE

~Art classes tailored for participants at all ability levels~

Rookery Art

Lee Hammond's art classes always draw a big crowd at Rookery Bay Reserve.

NAPLES – Back by popular demand for the third season, Rookery Bay Reserve offers art enthusiasts the opportunity to learn from master artist, author and instructor Lee Hammond, whose classes cover a variety of modes and styles with a focus on animals and landscapes.

Hammond is a police composite artist, holds licenses to paint pictures of NASCAR drivers and has published more than 30 art instruction books that have sold more than 1 million copies. With a home base in the Midwest all summer and fall, Hammond has established her winter teaching home at Rookery Bay.

Hammond’s first two classes – scheduled for Jan. 5-9 and Jan. 26-30 – teach students how to draw realistic portraits in graphite and colored pencils. In these five-day classes, Hammond uses her books "Lifelike Drawing from Photographs" and "Drawing People and Clothing" to demonstrate easy methods for students at all ability levels (no experience required). Students learn how to draw facial features, hairstyles, clothing, hands and feet.

In February she will offer two animal drawing classes, one in graphite and the other in colored pencil, and in March acrylics classes covering realistic painting of landscapes and seascapes.

Class space is limited and registration is required. Class tuition is $375 for her five-day classes (supplies cost extra). For more information visit www.rookerybay.org.
