SURVEY LAUNCHED TO GATHER ZEMEL ROAD ODOR DATA
~Residents who experience odor in the area are encouraged to complete survey~
PUNTA GORDA – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's South District is looking to gather data regarding odors near Zemel Road in Punta Gorda. There are three waste facilities on this road that may be contributing to odor complaints.
The department is requesting that Lee County and Charlotte County residents within a three-mile radius of all three facilities fill out the electronic survey that can be accessed here when they note odors.
This survey will encompass both the dry season and wet season. It will run from now until November 2015. The
survey will provide the department and the active facilities sound data, which
will ultimately assist with creating a solution to remediate odors migrating
off-site.
The survey can also be accessed using the QR code below. For additional information about the survey, please contact the DEP's South
District Outreach Coordinator Terry Cerullo at 239-344-5647 or via email Terry.Cerullo@dep.state.fl.us.
