DEP TO HOST MARINA WORKSHOP IN PENSACOLA

~Workshop focuses on the importance of preserving Florida's water quality~

PENSACOLA – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Northwest District invites marina owners, employees and other interested parties to attend a free workshop in Pensacola on Nov.18.

The free workshop will provide an educational opportunity for Northwest Florida’s marine industry and allow attendees to learn about the regulatory requirements that affect their industry. DEP regulatory experts will be on-hand to address industry-specific questions, review best-management practices, state lands lease requirements and cost-savings options. DEP staff will also provide an overview of the department’s Clean Marina Program.

“Our state’s environment and economy both depend on the health of our waterbodies,” said Northwest District Director Shawn Hamilton. “By educating and assisting this industry, we are ensuring greater protection of our water resources.”
