MANGROVES, DOCKS AND SHORELINE STABILIZATION WORKSHOP COMES TO GTM RESERVE

~Learn what you need to do to be in compliance with state mangrove laws~

PONTE VEDRA BEACH - The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Northeast District is offering training for individuals interested in mangroves and preserving natural coastal resources. The training will be held at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve on Oct. 15

Those who attend will learn how to identify mangroves, protect mangrove resources and trim and alter mangroves in compliance with state laws. Additionally, attendees will learn how to identify and treat the invasive Brazilian pepper and will receive information on the responsibilities of having a dock and shore stabilization.

The Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve's Coastal Training Program is sponsoring the event. The reserve's Coastal Training Program helps inform locals on safe and sustainable coastal practices. Those interested in attending the training workshop can register here
