RE: DEP Secretary Herschel T. Vinyard Jr.'s Letter
Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary
Herschel T. Vinyard Jr. issued a letter today to Dan A. Hughes Company. Below
is a copy of that letter. Feel free to reach out if you need further
information.

Company

Dear
Ms. Kremers:
As
you know, I sent a letter on July 3, 2014, with a list of demands for the Dan
A. Hughes Company to meet by July 15 to increase transparency and address the
numerous unanswered concerns about activities at the Collier-Hogan well.
One
of these demands was to testify before the Collier County Commission’s July 8
meeting to discuss your current practices and long-term plans. The Dan A.
Hughes Company did not testify, or even send a representative, to yesterday’s
meeting.
The
demands I have made of the Dan A. Hughes Company offer a tremendous opportunity
to begin rebuilding the trust your past actions have damaged. I have been very
clear that the written required actions are not negotiable and require your
expeditious attention.
The
Department is fully assessing any and all actions at our disposal to bring the
Dan A. Hughes Company into compliance with the law and we will be prepared to
act on July 15.
I
look forward to your immediate response.
Sincerely,
Herschel
T. Vinyard Jr.
