DEP, CANAVERAL PORT AUTHORITY HOST CLEAN AND RESILIENT MARINA PROGRAM WORKSHOP
CAPE CANAVERAL – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and several key partners are hosting the Clean and Resilient Marina and Compliance Assistance workshop on June 17 at the Canaveral Port Authority. The workshop helps kickoff the Clean and Resilient Marina program recently introduced by DEP as part of the Gulf of Mexico Alliance with other Gulf states.
The workshop stems from a partnership between DEP, the Canaveral Port Authority, Brevard County and Bluepoints Marina. Participants in the workshop will learn about spill prevention, hazardous waste disposal, Clean Vessel Act pumpout grants, boating infrastructure grants and other key elements to the Clean and Resilient Marina program.
All employees of marinas, boatyards and marine retailers are invited to attend this no-cost workshop, which will also feature a tour of Bluepoints Marina.
The Clean and Resilient Marina program is designed to help marinas adapt best-management practices so they can resume normal business activities as soon as possible following a hazardous storm.
