DEP SEEKS WILD WATERS CONCESSION PARTNER FOR SUMMER SEASON
~Operator needed for Silver Springs State Park water attraction~
TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s
Florida Park Service has issued a Call for Business Plans seeking a concession
partner to operate Wild Waters at Silver Springs State Park for the summer
season.
Thousands of residents in the Central Florida area have
requested Wild Waters continue to operate. The department is making repairs
to the facilities that will hopefully keep Wild Waters open for several years.
The department has issued an expedited Call for Business
Plans for the operation of Wild Waters. The concessionaire is expected to operate
all aspects of the water park, including, but not limited to, ticket
sales/admission fee collection, operation of multiple waterslides and swimming
pools, food and beverage sales, merchandise resale, recreational equipment
rentals, event management services, and locker rentals.
Those interested in submitting a proposal should click here for
guidelines on preparing a proposal. A mandatory on-site meeting will be held Monday,
May 19, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. EDT at Wild Waters, and proposals are due no later
than 5:00 p.m. EDT Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
The 266-acre Silver Springs attraction became part of the
award-winning Florida Park Service on Oct. 1, 2013.
