DEP SEEKS WILD WATERS CONCESSION PARTNER  FOR SUMMER SEASON

~Operator needed for Silver Springs State Park water attraction~

TALLAHASSEE  The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service has issued a Call for Business Plans seeking a concession partner to operate Wild Waters at Silver Springs State Park for the summer season.

Thousands of residents in the Central Florida area have requested Wild Waters continue to operate. The department is making repairs to the facilities that will hopefully keep Wild Waters open for several years.

The department has issued an expedited Call for Business Plans for the operation of Wild Waters. The concessionaire is expected to operate all aspects of the water park, including, but not limited to, ticket sales/admission fee collection, operation of multiple waterslides and swimming pools, food and beverage sales, merchandise resale, recreational equipment rentals, event management services, and locker rentals.

Those interested in submitting a proposal should click here for guidelines on preparing a proposal. A mandatory on-site meeting will be held Monday, May 19, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. EDT at Wild Waters, and proposals are due no later than 5:00 p.m. EDT Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

The 266-acre Silver Springs attraction became part of the award-winning Florida Park Service on Oct. 1, 2013.
