DEP TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING PENDING GOLDEN GATE ESTATES OIL DRILLING PERMIT
~Golden Gate Estates meeting intended to inform, update public on permit application~
NAPLES –The
Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Oil and Gas Program will host
a public meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 to provide members of the public an
opportunity to get information on the oil and gas permitting process and have
their questions answered regarding the Department’s assessment of the
application from the Dan A. Hughes Company, L.P. for a project in Collier
County near Golden Gate Estates.
Staff
will be on hand to provide information regarding:

The permitting process.
- Provisions of the existing rules and statues and the
Department’s regulatory authority.

Environmental protection and public safety.
-
The Dan A. Hughes permit application.
The
expo-style public meeting will be formatted so that attendees will be able to
ask topic specific questions at designated topic area stations.
The
event will take place:

Public
comment will continue to be taken until the agency takes final agency action on the permit.
Comment cards will be available to be filled out at the meeting that can be
filled out on-site or mailed at a later time. Comments can also be
