OLUSTEE STATE PARK TO HOST REENACTMENT OF CIVIL WAR BATTLE

HOW: Event entry is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for
children ages 4 and younger. School groups may call 386-397-7003 to register for the event on Friday.
More than 2,000 reenactors will present impressions of military and civilian life at the time of Florida's largest Civil War battle. The event will feature battle reenactments, period music
concerts, crafts, lectures, color ceremonies, military drills and cavalry exhibits.
The Battle of Olustee was fought on Feb. 20, 1864. More than
10,000 cavalry, infantry and artillery troops and three African-American regiments took part in the battle that ended with 2,807 casualties and a Confederate victory.
Please note: Pets are not allowed at the park during the
reenactment. Food concessions will be available, but ATM will not be available and credit/debit cards are not
accepted.
