ON TODAY'S ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE
MOSAIC FERTILIZER, LLC, SETTLEMENT

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – "We are pleased to conclude nearly eight years of negotiations that led to the agreement announced today. The phosphogypsum stack systems covered by the agreement have been effectively regulated by DEP and managed by Mosaic for more than a decade, and the settlement provides further assurance that Florida’s residents and environment will be protected for generations to come. The consent decrees will codify best practices, implement innovative new processes to reduce waste, and require that Mosaic maintain additional financial resources to address the closure and long-term care of its phosphogypsum systems."
