Neighbors,

This week and next are important for this Administration.

Over the last few days, I’ve announced policy initiatives that will help pave a pathway to the middle class for all residents of the District. From providing quality care for early learning to expanding job training opportunities in fast-growing career paths, we are delivering a fresh start for the District.

Next Tuesday, I will deliver my first State of the District Address where I will lay out our vision for the District and discuss ways we can expand opportunity for every resident - no matter what your zip code is.

On Thursday, I will announce my first budget to the D.C. Council and you. In the next fiscal year, we face a nearly $200 million budget gap and had tough choices to make, but we will continue to invest in programs that will help improve the lives of all Washingtonians and those fighting to get into the middle class.

Stay tuned for more information on my budget and how the District plans to serve you and your neighborhoods in the coming fiscal year.

Sincerely,

Mayor Bowser

P.S. It’s not too late to RSVP for my first State of the District Address on Tuesday, March 31st at the Lincoln Theatre. Doors open at 5:30 PM. You can RSVP here.
