Happy September, YGL-B!
Football season has started, pumpkin spice lattes are back, and Labor Day weekend marked the unofficial end of Summer. Come celebrate the new season with us at our monthly Happy Hour. The officer nomination deadline has also been extended, so this is a perfect time to get involved with YGL-B!
YGL-Bethesda Officer Nominations (deadline extended to 9/29)
YGL-B is looking for a few enthusiastic members committed to the mission of YGL-B that would be interested in serving in a leadership capacity on the Executive Board. There are currently four officer positions on the YGL-B Executive Board: President, Vice President, Communications Director, and Director of Programs and Events. Serving on the Executive Board is a wonderful opportunity to develop and hone key skills and engage with other government professionals across the Bethesda area. If you have any questions or would like to speak with one of the current Executive Board members, please contact bethesda@younggov.org.

To nominate yourself, please send an email to bethesda@younggov.org by September 29, 2013, stating the position(s) you would like to run for, and a brief biographical statement with a few sentences on why you are running for the selected position(s). Or, to nominate someone else, please send an email to bethesda@younggov.org, providing the name and email address of the person you are nominating, and the position(s) you are nominating them for.
September Happy Hour (9/26)
This month we will be meeting at Tommy Joe's for our monthly Happy Hour. If you are new to YGL-B or have been a member for a while, come on out and connect with old and new friends. If you are considering joining the Executive Board, come talk to the current officers over drinks.
When: Thursday, September 26, 2013, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Where: Tommy Joe's, 4714 Montgomery Lane, Bethesda, MD (closest Metro station: Bethesda) (Directions)
What: Great drink specials and 1/2 price select appetizers. Tommy Joe's also has trivia night on Thursdays starting at 7:30pm! Come for Happy Hour, and stay for trivia with old and new friends.

Bio-Med Book Club Dinner Discussion (10/21)
Join the Bio-Med Book Club on October 21, 2013 to discuss God’s Hotel by Victoria Sweet. Whether you have read the book or are just interested in the topic, come on out for what’s sure to be an interesting discussion!
