A Note From The YGL Denver President
Last week, YGL Denver held our annual happy hour and basketball event as we watched the Nuggets beat the Golden State Warriors in a very exciting game. We want to thank everyone who came out; especially the new members who attended and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.
As we enter the winter season the YGL Denver Chapter is planning some great activities. Our next event will be a coaching and mentoring session on Thursday February 25th at 6:00 pm in the Chavez Federal building, followed by a happy hour at Cap City Tavern with your fellow Colorado Government Leaders. There are a couple parking lots right next to the building and there is street parking. Cap City Tavern is right around the corner from the Chavez Building. In March we will be hosting an event highlighting opportunities through the Colorado Leadership Foundations Program.
We are working to continue moving the Denver Chapter forward by offering networking and career building opportunities throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you at the next couple events.
As always feel free to contact us directly with ideas, thoughts or events you would like to see. We are always looking for your feedback so we hope to hear from you soon. Email us at YGLDenver@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Justin Fazzari

Maggie
2 year old Stafforshire Terrier
Maggie is very goofy and loves to be snuggled. She likes to act silly and make her foster mom laugh. She enjoys rolling around on soft blankets, play softly with her foster family but rough housing isn't her thing. This terrier is eager and willing to learn, a polite girl and will wait for her food, likes to sit down and eat, and is easy going and chill. She likes to be close to her person at night, it's important, and makes her feel safe. She does not require crating ever and is happy to lounge around during the day until you get home from work.
Maggie is house trained, loves kids but the children have to be kind and respectful of her. She was mistreated in her early years and can not have someone be unkind to her EVER! She is rarely vocal, likes being outside and soaking up the sun. But, doesn't need long walks or hikes. She knows how to use a doggy door, the commands: "sit, stay, come" and instead of hiking, let's go on a car ride!

Urban Peak is a homeless shelter for teens. They are required to go to school or have a job. It’s not just a place to sack out, as some would think. We are looking for more volunteers to help provide and serve food the 3rd Wednesday of the month. There are a group of federal employees that get there around 5 and 6 and are usually done by 7. There is no dishwashing or cleanup involved. The teens take care of that. They are always so appreciative of what the volunteers do. It’s a wonderful way to feel like you are making a difference in a young persons life.
The group volunteers at the S. Bannock location. If you are interested in helping please contact Michael Nestlehut Michael.Nestlehut@onrr.gov.
