Gessler's New Business Fee Holiday Continues
$1 Filing Fee Continues through October
DENVER, September 30, 2014 – Today, Secretary of State Scott Gessler announced that new business filing fees will remain at $1.00 through October. Since July 1, new business filers have enjoyed paying the reduced fee, down from $50. The latest holiday stems from the legislature’s recent repayment of its 2009 cash fund raid, along with a budget surplus.
“We’re continuing to monitor these fees closely and our projection for this fee holiday continues through October,” Gessler said. “While these savings might not impact the bottom line for big companies, it might encourage an entrepreneur to start that side business, convince a software programmer to put his idea into the marketplace or inspire a small business owner to branch out. Either way, we want to make it easy for Coloradans to pursue their American dream.”
Gessler initiated a similar fee reduction in 2012 that returned over $3.5 million to Colorado businesses.
