DOT

Road Resurfacing Work

to Start in August

The City of Sacramento will begin road resurfacing in August to keep our city streets in like-new condition. It is more cost effective for the City to resurface a street before pavement deterioration becomes severe and requires reconstruction. In 2013 the Department of Transportation will resurface nine arterial streets and numerous neighborhood streets, including the following streets in District 4 (see maps below):

  • J Street between 3rd and 4th Streets
  • J Street between 13th and 16th Streets
  • Capitol Mall between 3rd and 9th streets
  • Several streets in South Land Park in the area between Seamas Ave. and Sutterville Road, west of Del Rio Road and east of I-5

Lanes will be reduced on arterial streets and neighborhood streets will close to traffic while work is being done. Work will only take place on weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, except for central city streets which will be worked on over weekends as well. The City will notify residents 3 - 5 days before their street is scheduled to be closed. Call 311 or the Public Works Help Desk at (916) 808-7027 with any questions about road resurfacing.
