A Message From Your Council Member…

We are happy to announce a few new openings in the Ward. The new McDonald’s on Magnolia Avenue and Park Sierra had their grand opening just last week. The facility is very impressive with an interactive children’s play area. Chipotle on Tyler Street and Diana Avenue has also opened its doors for business. The new patio sitting area located in front of Chipotle has become a favorite food hub for many visitors. Below find more exciting updated information about Ward 6 including who will be occupying the old Von’s location.

As always, we are here to serve you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at any time.

El Protector Baseball Clinic

El Protector’s FREE Baseball Clinic is coming to Ward 6. El Protector is a law enforcement coalition committed to providing assistance and education to the communities they serve. Their focus is to improve community relations and safeguard the community by providing opportunities for children to better themselves and improve their outlook for the future. The El Protector Baseball Clinic includes parent workshops and a baseball clinic for children ages 7 to 14 years old (children must be accompanied by an adult to participate). The event will take place March 26th from 8am-1pm at Bryant Park. Thank you to all the partners who have made this event possible: California Highway Patrol, Riverside Police Department, UCR Police, Riverside County Sheriff’s, Corona Police and Riverside Community College Police. Welcome Cardenas Market

We are very happy to share that Cardenas Market will be the new anchor store for the vacant supermarket site on La Sierra and Magnolia in Ward 6. Cardenas Markets is becoming one of California’s fastest growing independent grocers in the supermarket industry. Cardenas Markets specialize in flavors from Latin America, but the company also prides itself on its unique shopping experience. Cardenas provides a family friendly environment for families to feel comfortable.  This new site will create 150-200 jobs for our area. Cardenas has a great track record of being involved with the community and has provided scholarships for students who live in neighborhoods within the Cardenas Market area. Once again, we would like to WELCOME the Cardenas Market to the La Sierra South area and look forward to building an even stronger partnership in the future!
