In between quarterly meetings, it is my goal to host smaller community meetings concentrated in your neighborhood. If you are interested in hosting a community meeting at your home or at your neighborhood park please let me know. I would love the opportunity to share information with neighbors and hear what you have to say. Closure of Lincoln St. at Magnolia Ave. and Lane Reduction on Southbound Buchanan Ave. at Magnolia

 
As part of the Magnolia Avenue grade separation project, construction crews will close Lincoln St. at Magnolia Ave. and reduce Southbound Buchanan Ave. to 2 lanes at Magnolia Ave. during two weekends this month.
 
Work is scheduled to begin this coming weekend, January 8-10 and January 15-17, weather permitting. Closures will begin on Friday 1/8/2016 at 10:00 pm and end Sunday 1/10/2016 at 6:00 am. Closures will begin on Friday 1/15/2016 at 10:00 pm and end Sunday 1/17/2016 at 6:00 am. However, work may be postponed due to inclement weather.

During the weekend closure periods, access to businesses on Lincoln St and Buchanan Ave. will be maintained at all times.

Adopt-A- Drain Program

The City of Riverside is partnering with residents and encouraging their participation in the newly launched Adopt-A-Drain Program. Riverside currently has 4,800 storm drains. Through the Adopt-A- Drain Program volunteers agree to remove debris that can block water from entering the drain or to call 311 to ask for assistance. Volunteers will NOT be asked or permitted to enter the storm drain at any time. To adopt a drain please visit www.adoptadrainriverside.com to select drain and then contact the City’s 311 system to get a free tool kit.

Sandbag Filling Stations

 In anticipation of continuous and extended heavy rainfall, the City of Riverside provides sandbag pick-up sites throughout the winter months. Sand and sandbags are available to property owners and local businesses on a self-serve basis, limit 20. Please see table below for a list of locations.

Reminder: Participate in the Growth and Safety of your Community!

 As a reminder: In an effort to encourage participation, the City of Riverside residents are invited to apply to City Boards and Commissions. The City Clerk’s office accepts applications year round and vacancies are filled as they become available. Ward 7 currently has two vacancies, one in the Cultural Heritage Board and the other in the Planning Commission.

 If interested, we encourage you to apply by picking up a copy at the City Clerk's Office, 7th floor of City Hall, 3900 Main Street, by calling 826-5557, or by downloading an application from the City Clerk’s Website http://www.riversideca.gov/city_clerk/commissions.asp.
