Fremont is Celebrating Affordable Housing Month
City Council Proclamation
On May 9, the Fremont City Council officially proclaimed May as Affordable Housing Month in Fremont. This proclamation supports the City’s commitment to providing affordable housing in Fremont for families across all income levels.
Grand Opening Celebration
The City is excited to announce more affordable housing in Fremont! On May 15, the City celebrated the grand opening of Granite Ridge Apartments. This new apartment complex, located at 3135 Medina Common in North Fremont, provides 72 units of affordable housing for some of the community’s most vulnerable members, including those who have experienced homelessness. The City provided $7.5 million in funding (generated from fees paid by market rate housing developers) and worked with Eden Housing and their partners to help make Granite Ridge Apartments possible. The City would like to extend a warm welcome to these new families and looks forward to providing additional opportunities for affordable housing in the future!
