The Brief

Vol. 11, No. 11                                                                             December 2015

Play by the Rules

A majority of court rules approved by the Supreme Court in August 2015 will take effect on January 1, 2016. An overview of new and amended rules including new forms can be found through state and local bar associations, subject matter interest groups, and the rules of court online at https://govt.westlaw.com/azrules/. Information, including the final version of adopted rules, is also available by clicking on “Rule Amendments from Recent Rules Agenda(s)” at the Arizona Judicial Branch’s Rules website at http://www.azcourts.gov/rules/.

National Adoption Day

The Superior Court reported 280 children were adopted during National Adoption Day on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Juvenile Court Center in Phoenix. Twenty-three clerk staff joined Governor Ducey, judges, court staff, former participants, families, professional sports mascots and superheroes in what was likely the largest event of its kind in the country. See the Clerk’s Facebook page (Clerk of Superior Court in Maricopa County) and Twitter account (@MaricopaClerk) for pictures from the event.

Season’s Greetings

Happy Holidays to you and your families throughout the season and into the New Year. Travel safely and allow extra time on the roads we share with our winter visitors. The Clerk’s Office looks forward to a strong finish this year and improvements into the next.
